Simon Phipps — Centre Director — simon@ati-ankara.com
Dr. Simon Phipps worked as Deputy Director of Bilkent University School of English Language in Ankara for 20 years, where he was responsible for in-service teacher training and development. He designed and directed an in-house MA programme (Management in Education in ELT), and taught MA courses on linguistics, lexis and educational management. He has worked in ELT in the UK, Germany and Turkey since 1985, and has been involved in teacher education since 1989. He has worked on Cambridge ESOL courses since 1993, and has been an External Assessor for the DELTA course since 1997. He has a PhD in Education, from the University of Leeds, UK, with a focus on teacher beliefs. His current professional interests include teacher cognition, teacher learning, teacher education research, and educational management.

Dr. Tom Godfrey has been working in ELT since 1980 and is Director of International Training Institute (ITI). He is an ELT consultant specialising in Curriculum Design and Teacher Education. He completed his Ed.D at Exeter University, UK. He is the founder of Speech Bubbles Theatre who perform musicals to raise money for charities that support education and children in Turkey.
Suzan Özgelen earned her B.A. in English Language and Literature from Hacettepe University in 2006. In the same year, she started her career as a language instructor at Bilkent University School of English Language where she worked for 8.5 years. She holds the ICELT certificate and the Cambridge English DELTA diploma. She also received her M.A. in Management in Education from Bilkent University in 2012. She has taught English at all levels and has been involved in pre-sessional academic course design, materials writing, curriculum development, mentoring and teacher training. She has also worked as a PDU (Professional Development Unit) Coordinator and has organized, designed and conducted several training sessions and workshops for English language instructors and academic unit members at different institutions. She currently works as a teacher trainer and a certified Cambridge English CELTA and DELTA tutor at ATI, also delivering 'Train the Trainer', CELT-P and CELT-S courses.

With a BA in Linguistics from Hacettepe University, and an MA in Management in Education from Bilkent University, Simge Gülaç O’Grady has taught English as a foreign language both in general and academic English contexts in Turkey, Europe and the Middle East. In addition to teaching classes, her work has involved materials writing, curriculum development and mentoring. She holds the ICELT certificate and the Cambridge English DELTA diploma. She currently works as a teacher trainer at ATI, delivering CELTA, DELTA, CELT-P and CELT-S courses as well as tailor-made training programmes and teacher development workshops.
Jason Price has worked as a teacher, teacher trainer and ELT project manager with both adult learners and in school-based contexts with young learners/teenagers. In addition to teaching, his experience includes designing and delivering teacher development/trainer training projects in partnership with national ministries of education, working with UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency) on teacher/trainer training programmes in the Middle East, and quality assurance of university English language teaching programmes.
He holds MA degrees in TESOL/Applied Linguistics from the University of Nottingham and in Middle East Politics from the University of Durham. He also holds the CELTA certificate and the Cambridge English DELTA diploma.
